The Vaccines


Formed in 2010 in West London, The Vaccines is Justin Young (vocals), Anri Hjorvar (bass), Freddie Cowan (guitar), and Pete Robertson (drums).

Influenced by 50s rock ‘n’ roll, 60s garage and girl groups, 70s punk, 80s American hardcore, and good pop music they have drawn comparisons to The Ramones, The Strokes, and The Jesus and Mary Chain.

Columbia Records released their debut album, What Did You Expect from the Vaccines, March 2011 which reached number 4 on the UK Album Chart.

The band placed 3rd on BBC’s Sound of 2011 chart and won the NME award for Best New Band in 2012 as well as the BRIT Award for New Music 2012. They were also nominated for Best New Act awards from MOJO Awards, Q Awards, MTV Awards, and Brit Awards in 2011 and 2012.

In September 2012 the band released their sophomore album Come of Age, which reached #1 on the UK Albums Chart.
