Andrew Sparkler, a senior executive at ASCAP, has joined Downtown Music Publishing, where he has been appointed as Vice President, Business Affairs & Operations.
In his new interdisciplinary role, Sparkler will supervise DMP’s direct relationships with both domestic and international collection societies, manage integration between DMP’s business affairs, administration and technology departments and develop new business opportunities for the company’s client roster. Sparkler will be based at DMP’s New York headquarters and will report to Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel, Andrew Bergman.
Sparkler was previously Vice President, Business & Membership Affairs for ASCAP, overseeing some of the organization’s highest profile songwriter, composer and publisher relationships. Sparkler is a graduate of Brown University and Fordham University School of Law.
“This has been a fantastic year of growth for DMP,“ said Bergman. “As we continue to enhance our client services offering amidst a rapidly shifting PRO landscape, having someone with Andrew's depth of knowledge and relationships will be invaluable to the company and our clients alike.”
“I’m extremely excited to join the DMP team as they continue reimagining the role of a music publisher,” said Sparkler. “Their global view, technology platform and worldclass creative services truly set the company apart."
