Downtown writers hit No. 1 on Billboard's 200 with six songs on Selena Gomez’s new album Revival.
This is the second time Selena Gomez has charted No. 1 on Billboard's 200. Revival quickly climbed up the charts and reached the top within a week of its release, selling over 85,000 copies.
Antonina Armato and Tim James co-wrote a number of tracks on the album including, “Revival,” “Body Heat”, and “Rise”. In addition, Adam Schmalholz contributed to "Revival" and Davé Aude wrote on “Kill Em with Kindness.”
It is not the first time Armato and James have partnered up with Gomez. The two founders of Rock Mafia also worked on her previous album For You including “The Heart Wants What It Wants,” which reached No. 6 on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 2014. Armato has worked with Gomez since 2009, co-writing two tracks on Kiss and Tell.
Adam Schmalholz is another member of the Rock Mafia writing group that has worked with Gomez before, including the hit single, "Love You Like A Love Song," which was co-written with Armato and James.
"Kill Em With Kindness" is Dave Audé's first collaboration with Gomez. Audé specializes in the realm of electronic music as a producer and a DJ. Audé’s own song, “You Have to Believe” featuring Olivia Newton- John and Chloe Lattanzi is currently climbing the dance charts. He also runs his own label Audacious Records, served as Music Director for The Pussycat Dolls, and worked on the score for the feature film Nine.
