Downtown x The Grammys

We are proud to have so many of our songwriters and associated Artists as 2016 Grammys nominees for their outstanding work this year. The following is the full list of Downtown writers and/or songs on the bill.

Best Americana Album:

Leon Bridges - Coming Home. Co-written by Downtown's Austin Jenkins and Josh Block

Best R&B Performance:

Hiatus Kaiyote - "Breathing Underwater."

Best Urban Contemporary Album:

Lianne La Havas for Blood. Includes the track "Midnight" co-written by Downtown's Shea Taylor.

Kehlani - You Should Be Here. Includes "Down For You" which samples Soulelection's "Just Friends" that samples Downtown writer Bobby Hebb's "Sunny."

Best Rap Album:

Drake - If You're Reading This It's Too Late. Downtown's Gabriel Garzón-Montano's "6 8" is sampled on the track "Jungle"

Dr Dre for Compton.  Includes"Talk Bout It" co-written by Downtown's Mike McHenry.

Brandy Clark for "Hold My Hand"

Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media:

50 Shades Of Grey - Includes "Witchcraft" performed by Frank Sinatra and written by Cy Coleman.

Pitch Perfect 2 - Includes "Where Them Girls At" by David Guetta and "A Different Beat" by Little Mix.

Best Music Film:

Sonic Highways - Foo Fighters. Includes the following Downtown songs; Subcuntaneous Phat by Desert Sessions, Kickstart My Heart by Motley Crue, Planet Rock by Arthur Baker, Whatever Gets You Through The Night by John Lennon, Fame by David Bowie, and Lightnin' Stomp by Lightnin Hopkins

Best Boxed Or Special Limited Edition Package:

The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers (Super Deluxe Version). Includes "You've Got To Love" performed by The Rolling Stones and written by Reverend Gary Davis.

The Grateful Dead - 30 Trips Around The Sun. Includes "Death Don't Have No Mercy" performed by The Grateful Dead and co-written by Reverend Gary Davis and "Beat It On Down" performed by The Greatful Dead and co-written by Downtown's Jesse Fuller.

Barringon Levy - Acousticalevy. Downtown's Phil Roy wrote "Vice Versa Love," "Be Strong," and "Things Friends."
