Shea Taylor

Shea Taylor is an ASCAP Award-winning and Grammy-nominated songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist based in NYC. Known for injecting energy into records, Robert “Shea” Taylor has produced some of the nation’s greatest hits. Hailing from the Garden State, he began planting the seeds for his career at an early age. After bulldozing onto to scene, Shea used the recording studio as his playground and took to working with notable acts such as Rihanna, Beyoncé, Chris Brown, Janet Jackson, Wyclef Jean, Solange, and Ne-Yo.

Taylor's recent collaborations range from Rihanna to Lianne La Havas. He co-wrote and produced Rihanna's neo-soul track "James Joint" from certified platinum and Billboard chart-topping album ANTI (2016). Taylor also has a cut on Lianne La Havas' 2015 GRAMMY nominated album Blood for the song "Midnight".

Taylor's songwriting credits include seven tracks off Beyoncé's record entitled 4. The album is certified platinum and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales totaling over 300,000. “Love On Top” made it to the top of the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and Adult R&B Airplay chart in March 2012. “Run the World (Girls)” also reached number one on the US Hot Dance Club Songs and is certified Gold in the US and New Zealand and Platinum in Australia and Canada.

“Best Thing I Never Had” climbed to the top of Nielsen’s Urban airplay chart in September and peaked at number four on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Taylor co-wrote the lead single “Thinkin Bout You” and “Pilot Jones” on Frank Ocean’s debut channel ORANGE. The album has garnered universal critical acclaim upon its release and debuted at number one on the US Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and the UK R&B Albums chart. It also debuted at number two on the Billboard 200.
