    CREATIVE INTERN:

    DMP Sync has been cultivated to be the premier destination for content creators to find the best emerging and established music. Managed by a team of executives with backgrounds in music supervision, advertising, and licensing, DMP works to match its clients’ interests with a broad range of media. In addition to traditional placement in film, TV, advertising, and video games, Downtown excels in digital and mobile licensing, product placement, merchandising, and integrated brand partnerships.

    So, what will you be doing?

    • Organizing and updating the catalog;
    • Uploading new audio to our website while creatively tagging it for music supervisors (i.e. lyrical theme, scene description, tempo;
    • Designing monthly mailers regarding licensing announcements;
    • Helping the team with pitches to TV and Film Studios, Advertising Houses and Video Game Producers; and
    • Managing and organizing publishing splits

    The purpose of this internship is to support a busy royalties department while learning about all facets of publishing day-to- day operations in a rapidly growing company. You will learn all about the different types of royalties and how they are processed; gaining a solid understanding of how royalties are generated, collected, and distributed to our clients. You will be introduced to specific software, as well as organizational and business processes, that will further your understanding of music publishing.

    • Organizing and maintaining royalty database
    • Reviewing royalty statements for accuracy
    • Processing incoming royalties in Music Maestro
    • Various ad-hoc day to day tasks

    LICENSING AND ADMINISTRATION INTERN:

    The purpose of this internship is to support a busy licensing and administration department while learning about all facets of publishing day-to- day operations in a rapidly growing company. The roll will encompass researching album release information for Downtown clients, assisting the department in processing synchronization and mechanical licenses data analysis, and various ad hoc tasks. You will be introduced to specific software, as well as organizational and business processes, that will further your understanding of music publishing.

    So, what will you be doing?

    • Help the team organize and execute mechanical and sync licenses
    • Enter and organize data in Music Maestro
    • Gather ISRCs (International Standard Recording Codes)
    • Organize and update publishing splits
    • Conduct internet research on recordings that embody Downtown copyrights

    You are:

    • Interested in the music industry
    • Someone who has a basic understanding of music publishing and Copyright Law
    • Eager to learn about the day-to-day operations of administrative publishing and have an interest in pursuing publishing as a career

    FINANCE INTERN:

    The role of the Finance Intern will be to assist in capital raising activities, analyze potential deals with songwriters and perform any other projects that are related to the Finance Team. By the end of the internship, the intern will have a strong understanding of deal modeling, the business of music publishing, and have enhanced skills in Microsoft Office. In addition to working with the Finance Team, the intern will be working closely with the Business Development Team and the Royalties Team.

    SO, WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

    • Assist with capital raising activities;
    • Analyze income streams and top performing songs of deals
    • Organize publishing splits; and
    • Other ad hoc projects for the Finance Team

    YOU ARE:

    Downtown is looking for a Senior Sync Associate to join our Los Angeles-based Film & TV department. You will be joining a fast-growing global team and will be focused on securing sync licenses for our writers and their songs in film and television productions. This work will not only drive revenue for the company but will also provide valuable marketing assistance to our writers and catalogs.

    What will you be doing?:

    • Pitch and secure licenses in film and television productions for the Downtown Music Publishing catalog
    • Assist Downtown’s Film & TV team in meeting revenue and volume-based sales/licensing goals
    • Represent Downtown’s creative marketing department in print, on panels, at events, and at other industry gatherings as directed by the department head
    • Express in person and in writing to Downtown songwriters and their representatives the goals and marketing plans of the creative department
    • Draft preliminary marketing plans for new business pitches

    You are:

    • 5-7 years of experience at a music publishing company, record label, or synchronization licensing company engaging with the Los Angeles-based film and television music licensing community.
