Downtown x 61st Grammy Award Winners

With contributions from 15 of our clients to 18 works nominated in 20 categories, Downtown writers co-wrote eight projects that won 11 awards at the Grammys on Sunday — including Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best Alternative Music Album, Best R&B Album, Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best Country Album, and Album of the Year. Congratulations to Anthony Rossomando, Andrew Wyatt, Niles City Sound, High On Fire, Gabriel Garzón-Montano, Hiatus Kaiyote, Cloud 9’s Trackmasters, Budde Music's Rob Bolland, and Big Yellow Dog's Daniel Tashian for their phenomenal work on esteemed songs and albums, as recognized by the Recording Academy.

Grammy performers included winners Lady Gaga, H.E.R., and Kacey Musgraves, in addition to Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, and Maren Morris — all of whom received nominations for work contributed to by our writers.

With a band that featured co-writers Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt as well as Mark Ronson, Lady Gaga performed an impassioned and energetic solo rendition of her duet with Bradley Cooper from A Star is Born, "Shallow" — which won Grammys for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written For Visual Media. The acclaimed hit has received several awards and many more nominations, including one for Original Song at the upcoming 2019 Academy Awards.
