Downtown Wins Music Week Sync Team Award

Downtown’s UK Sync Team was honored at the fifth annual Music Week Sync Awards in London last night, taking home the award for best team in the Independent Publisher category — recognized for their placement of music from clients like Rex Orange County (Pennies From Heaven) with Milky Bar and Slaves with Nike.

The award was accepted by Jedd, UK Managing Director Roberto Neri, and UK Sync Team members Tristan Wilson and Peter Walsh, Cabrea Casey from the New York office, and Charles Braud from Paris. A&R staff Jacque O'Leary and Davina Merchant as well as Downtown clients Naughty Boy, ZDOT, and Moelogo were also in attendance. 


In addition to the Sync Team award, Downtown was nominated for Best Sync in a TV advertisement for the placement of Astræa’s “You’re Not Alone” in a Lloyds Bank spotDowntown client Hans Zimmer also won the Best Sync in a TV Trailer award for the use of his exclusive collaboration with Radiohead in BBC One’s Blue Planet II trailer.


Held at the historic De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, the ceremony was hosted by comedian Tom Ward. It is the sole awards event in Europe to recognize members of the sync community for their creative contributions to the worlds of gaming, TV, and film.
