Downtown has continued to expand our global finance team through a series of hires and promotions. We are proud to announce the promotion of Dan Bettes to Vice President, Finance and Eugenia Beltran to Director, US Accounting Operations and Treasury, as well as the appointment of two new hires: Rebecca Davies Cooke as International Accounting Manager and Dan Bechhofer as Senior Accountant.
“When I joined Downtown in 2016, our strategy was to create the leading global rights management platform that would include a corporate finance and accounting function that could handle any transaction from any part of the world,” said Downtown CFO Alan Goodstadt, sharing the announcement. “These additions to our growing team further Downtown’s continued investment in a diverse workforce, recruiting from both within and outside the music industry.”
Shortly after joining Downtown as Controller in 2017, Bettes successfully developed a global accounting and treasury management system which has been vital to the seamless integration of Downtown’s accounting and business operations. He will now be responsible for all accounting and financial reporting, treasury, and FP&A infrastructure across our business units globally, as well as strategic initiatives in corporate finance and M&A.
In her newly appointed position, Eugenia will be responsible for managing Downtown’s treasury and core accounting operations across all of our U.S. businesses. With over two decades of experience in the music industry, Eugenia joined Downtown as an Accounting Manager in 2013 at our New York City headquarters.
Rebecca will manage Downtown's international financial operations from our growing office in London. With over a decade of professional experience, Rebecca has worked at top global accounting firms including KPMG and Grant Thornton and is both a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser in the UK.
Joining Bettes’ team in New York, Bechhofer will help streamline our financial reporting processes and act as a liaison between Downtown and our external auditors. Prior to Downtown, Bechhofer worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Associate in the firm’s assurance and advisory practices. His role included investigatory work on behalf of songwriters, which was used in the most recent Copyright Royalty Board proceedings.
