Sucker Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

The "undercover king of pop" Ryan Tedder is back with his second No. 1 song as both a co-writer and co-producer for the Jonas Brothers' comeback single "Sucker" — which debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 this week.

"Sucker" is one of only two songs by a duo or group that has debuted at No. 1 in the Hot 100's 60-year history, the other occurring over 20 years ago, in 1998. It is also the Jonas Brothers' first to top the chart.

The trio's Nick Jonas shared the news in a touching Tweet, with a screen shot of the chart and a Billboard article announcing the accomplishment.

The brothers also shared their appreciation for Ryan's work on the song.

Released along with the song itself on March 1, "Sucker's" success  was supported by a music video co-starring the Jonas Brothers' wives: actress, singer, film producer, and Miss World 2000 pageant-winner Priyanka Chopra; actress Sophie Turner; and TV personality Danielle Jonas. Though Tedder wasn't featured in the video, he did release a parodic "original" cover for the single.

"Sucker" is Downtown's second chart-topping hit in a row, following the success of "Shallow" last week — which rocketed back to No. 1 after its win at the Academy Awards.
