Michael Oliver Tighe is a NYC based songwriter, lyricist and guitarist. He has co-written songs and/or recorded with artists including Jeff Buckley, Mark Ronson, Adele, Liam Gallagher, Kiiara, Andrew Wyatt, Teddy Sinclair, Kimbra and more.
Born and raised in NYC, Tighe started his music career at an early age. As a teenager, he was drafted into Jeff Buckley's band as a guitarist and songwriter. He penned several songs with Buckley including "So Real" from the classic album 'Grace', which was voted one of the top 100 albums of all time by Rolling Stone magazine.
Michael is known for his unorthodox approach to guitar composition combining soul, urban and classical and for the stark poetry in his lyrics. He frequently collaborates with Andrew Wyatt and Mark Ronson and composed music for the film Music and Lyrics. He is featured on Ronson's hit album 'Version'. Michael co-wrote several songs on Liam Gallagher's 2017 debut solo album 'As You Were' including singles "Wall Of Glass" "Chinatown" and "Paper Crown". In 2018 he teamed up with Grammy Award winning Kimbra and contributed songwriting to her critically acclaimed album 'Primal Heart'. Alongside Teddy Sinclair and Stelios, Michael formed the NYC based writing collective, Doom Goon.
